Course Objectives

Feedback from many Internal Auditors including Heads of Internal Audit and others who have attended the Fundamental Data Analytics Course (DAIA) themselves or received their feedback from staff who attended, consider that Data Analytics is the main driver in their Internal Audit Transformation Plan (IATP), which essentially means how to get the Internal Audit function to use data for 100% population auditing instead of doing sample-type audits. However, there seems to be impediments in producing a workable and convincing plan.

At the CAE level there seems to be awareness, through seminars and conferences, that “knowing and understanding the Data” is key to increasing the scope and depth of audit activities and moving towards the concept continuous automated auditing.

While seminars and conferences provide/provoke inspiration from thought-leaders, workshop discussions amongst CAE’s will take them a step closer to planning their department’s transformation through learning and sharing of ideas.
