Course Objective

This one-day course will introduce delegates to the core elements required in measuring internal audit performance as required by the new Global Internal Audit Standards™. Internal audit functions must conform with the new Global Internal Audit Standards™ as well as achieving performance objectives and pursuing continuous improvements through a well establish quality assurance and improvement program. The Chief Audit executive should establish a methodology to plan, track and measure performance (e.g., efficiency and quality).

  • How to measure Internal Audit performance in line with the New Global Internal Audit Standards™
    • Requirements of standard 12.2
    • Considerations for implementation
    • Establish performance objectives and targets for tracking and reporting on IA performance
  • Developing Internal Audit “Balance Scorecard’ with KPI’s
  • Developing metrics for audit effectiveness and efficiency
  • Reporting dashboard for Internal Audit effectiveness and efficiency to be used for internal audit key stakeholders
  • Client satisfaction survey (for key stakeholders) as one of the tools to assess Internal Audit performance

Who should attend?

 

 

Level 3

Supervisory/competent/senior internal auditors: those who already have a sound, practical grasp of the fundamentals of internal auditing and manage staff.

Level 4

For advanced internal auditors: Auditors with excellent understanding of topics being presented, who are interested in exchanging knowledge with instructors and other participants.
