Online Course Outline



  • A 1-Hour pre-course online session will be held with delegates on the course, its structure and mode of delivery.
  • Please note that Morning Sessions will be in online mode where discussions and interaction will take place in the online environment. The afternoon sessions will be to cater for practical work, exercises and case studies which will be discussed .
  • This course is also available as a 3-day classroom -based training


Day 1 Session 1 – 08:30 to 12:30

QA Manual and Process Overview

  • Examine The IIA’s Framework for QA’s
  • Answer common quality assessment questions using The IIA’s International IPPF.
  • Describe the QA Manual process and tools.
  • Contrast three types of quality assessments.


Day 1 Session 213:00 to 17:00

Planning the Quality Assessment

  • Plan an external QA using the QA tools.
  • Describe key features of planning guides.
  • Apply the planning tools to a QA.
  • Describe key features of surveys.
  • Analyse survey results.

Day 2 Session 1 – 08:30 to 12:30

Performing the Quality Assessment

  • Perform an external quality assessment by implementing
  • the QA Manual tools.
  • Describe the key features of interview guides.
  • Analyze interview results.
  • Describe key features of QA programs.
  • Analyze QA program results.

Day 2 Session 2 – 13:00 to 17:00

Evaluating QA Results

  • Evaluate an external QA using the QA Tools.
  • Apply evaluation criteria on common QA scenarios requiring professional judgment.
  • Determine final ratings (evaluation results).
  • Describe key features of the QA evaluation framework and tools.
  • Develop value-added solutions for common QA issues and opportunities.


Day 3 Session 1 – 08:30 to 12:30

Periodic Internal Quality Assessment Approaches

  • Develop, or validate, an efficient and effective periodic internal assessment approach for IAA.
  • Discuss implications of periodic internal QA based on IPPF guidance.
  • Discuss common periodic assessment challenges and possible solutions.
  • Identify the factors needed for an efficient and effective periodic internal QA program.


Day 3 Session 2 – 13:00 to 17:00

External Quality Assessment Options

  • Determine, discuss, or validate, the external QA option that will work best for your IAA.
  • Conclusion
